Objects to props for movies

So if i have a object file opened in newest blender can i export it as a file that can be opened in the Movies?

My friend wants hundrads of soldiers in his scene and its no important that it move. I am sure i can find somewere internet a free soldier model. Just wondering how to add it to movies. And can i chainge the pose for the model first?
